Good Morning Most Awesome and Wonderful World Changers! One the things that burns me up inside is a student yelling out in the middle of a lesson, “This is Boring!” I get so angry. I pride myself on keeping an active classroom, but there are sometime when you just have to sit, listen, and learn. So in these times when a student yells out, “I’m bored” I feel I have to make sure they are “not bored anymore”. So I make them copy the dictionary for the rest of class. Now in my whole career of over 15 years this has happened maybe 5 times. However just this year, it has happened every week. I figure this must be my time to face my issues with this. I just really don’t how anyone can be bored? I could live at home for the rest of my life and still find so many things to do that I would be busy from sun up to sun down. Watching TV would not be one of them. Anyway if every experience is an opportunity to learn and grow. This is what I’m gathering from my experiences of the past few weeks. Sometimes when children don’t understand how to do what you’re asking, they say the hated B word. Sometimes when children were expecting you to behave a certain way and you behave different they say the hated B word. There are various reasons but you will never know until you ask. The point is to release the need to try to control everybody and everything; and ask for clarification. By asking questions, it stops me from going into “pet peeve” mode and it becomes a learning experience for both me and the student. Lesson: When people do things to annoy you, Stop, Think and Breathe and Ask questions or Walk away!
Daily Affirmations: Today is an Amazing Day! I love myself! I love others! I release the need to try to control everything and everyone. I trust the process of life. I flow easily with life. Only good comes from each experience. It is an opportunity to learn and grow! ALL IS WELL IN MY CLASSROOM! ALL IS WELL IN MY SCHOOL! ALL IS WELL IN MY WORLD! ALL IS WELL AND I AM SAFE! #IBlessMySchoolWithLove
